LEJOG Day 2 - Plymouth to Street (95 Miles)

Good evening everyone, Day 2 of my challenge is now complete and was indeed another hard day, 11 hours in the saddle. The two days so far have been brutish to say the least. Today I had 24 steep and hard hill climbs, not only this but also the wind was very strong and unfortunately against me again all day. Especially on top of the open Dartmoor. I did manage to pause and

take this photo of the famous prison.

It was very warm today, so I have made sure that my fluid intake was ample and also I have been firing in the bananas (3 today) and the nutrition bars too, I have actually been putting two sugars in my tea (I don't usually take sugar) to ensure my blood sugar level has remained good.

I witnessed some stunning countryside today, which changes with respect to both Cornwall and Devon style. I am now firmly in Somerset. This is a picture of Clapper Bridge, a medieval structure on the moor, that has stood the test of time,

This is the famous Warren Inn, which has a coal fire all year round that has remained lit for well over 100 years.

(nearly as hot as my bicycle tyres !!

Tomorrow Day 3, is a very long one, Street to Bewdley in the West Midlands, 114 miles.

So it now time for some shut eye.

Wishing you all a very good evening and thank you for following my blog and also your outstanding support, I feel very humbled.
